 All you'll need is:
- 1 photo (approx 3.5" diameter)
- a few paper flowers (limited flowers available)
- rhinestones
- ribbon for a bow
- twine

and if you're bringing your own papers, add these:
- 2 papers for the background
- plain paper or cardstock for the branches
- a frame for the photo

It's time to scrap some Christmas layouts!

As nice as it is to do something different, red and green will always be the go-to colours for Christmas and next week we're using the wonderful "Home for Christmas" collection from Kaisercraft in all my classes. At TJ's Scrappin' with Style we're doing this one:

There  is some nice and subtle gold and silver shine here and there...
and we're die cutting some adorable mini bows:

For the rest of the classes I have some news:
I will no longer be teaching at Scrapulous (a personal decision), but until Christmas classes are going ahead at different locations. So if you're interested in coming, you MUST let me know and I will give you the details. Just until I work a few things out.
So, here is what we're doing:

I've used the "Home for Christmas" and "Basecoat" collections for this layout and it's just so easy to scrap with these!

I've used the "Home for Christmas" and "Basecoat" collections for this layout and it's just so easy to scrap with these! There is some lovely chipboard (available in 3 similar designs),
and a little angel too (he was a bit gaudy in gold, so he got a few coats of white spray paint)
Tug in a few more embellishments and it's done! So if you're up for some quick Christmas scrapping, contact me below!

Graffiti and a swell time

In our next class at TJ's Scrappin' With Style we're creating a star layout that is suitable for boys and girls.

We just use some cardstock, one patterned paper, a star die and a few embellishments to create this look:

Are you ready to scrap lots of photos on a double layout at Scrapulous?

You can use more or less photos than me, depending on what you have.

We will use a few my2angels goodies to embellish this page: flowers, ribbon, a charm and rhinestone squares. I'll even show you how to bling up some very ordinary buttons.

All you need is this:
photos: one 4x6" and approx  seven 3x4" (directions can vary from mine)
2 background papers *)
4 patterned papers
flowers *)
rhinestone squares *)
ribbon *)
1 charm *)
Glossy Accents / Dimensional Accents
Cutter & usual tools
Everything else will be supplied in class
*) all available at Scrapulous

This class will be at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park on Tuesday November 17, at 10am

Christmas cards with Charming Words

When it comes to Christmas, I just love the traditional colours! The Home for Christmas 6x6" paper pad is perfect for making lots of Christmas cards.

It goes really well with a rustic look:

And it also suits the red-and-green colour scheme:

Team it up with some Charming Words (find them all here) and any simple card will get the wow factor!

♥♥♥

Here I used:
♥ poinsettia

♥♥♥
The red stamen stems aren't just a great tongue twister, they're delightful as a wreath too!

Simply twist one branch into a double circle, tie with some twine and cover with a fussy cut poinsettia from the paper pad. A few extra white stamen will help it not to look so flat. And a little 2015 charm is so "now".

♥♥♥
If you like it a little more frilly, try cutting out a circle as a bauble...

 ...and decorate it with:
♥ tiny rose
♥ pink stamens

♥♥♥
Like it more traditional? Try using some of the red gloss paper from the pad and rub a baby wipe over the corners. It will take some of the colour off and show the glossy design all the better.

Then decorate with a green merry Christmas charming word:

♥♥♥
Do you like to make your own embellishments? Why not take a golden bauble mini pick and whip up a sparkly bauble:

It's super easy and quick and the golden rhinestone chain is included too! Finish it off with a pretty organza ribbon bow (tie two layers into a bow for extra volume!)
Then add some more star flowers

♥♥♥
A strip of Christmas felt ribbon always makes a pretty border. The kraft and white combo goes well with a little black, if you like it a tiny bit more non-traditional.

I used:
♥ black metal textured stars (among my all-time faves)
♥ red twine

So, as you can see, the Home For Christmas paper is super versatile and you can make lots and lots of cards from just the one 6x6" pad, some cardstock and some pretty embellies from my2angels.
Happy cardmaking!

Something fishy

In next week's class we're using a few mixed media to create a soft, watery effect with a fish mask! It will turn out very shimmery, with a golden glow.

You don't need to stick to an orange colour scheme, we will just match it to your photos. For instance, this layout would look great in greens and blues with a touch of gold.

Now, before you panic and rush off to Asia to take photos of koi fish, there are a few other themes you might want to consider: beach, lake side, cruise, fishing, nature, pet fish and of course, anything Japanese or Asian.

You can also add more decorations like charms. I have intentionally kept it fairly plain, so we can concentrate on the technique and also use up some busy paper.

Class times are like always:
Tue 10am, Thur 6pm, Fri 9:30am
at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park
Cost: $20

a lightbulb moment

It's time we scrapped the boys again and this time it's a kit class! This layout was designed by Janet, but I have adapted it a little to suit our papers.

You will receive everything you need and more - enough for a second layout (just add another background). Not only is there is a cool wire light bulb...
...but also 20 patterned 6x6" papers in your kit to choose from, so you can adjust the colours a little, depending on what suits your photo. The same goes for the tags and borders, there are plenty of choices. And while I have used a beach theme here and there, you don't have to.

All you will need to bring is 1 photo (4x6", either direction). You can also use 2 small photos instead. The cost of this class will be $26, which includes your kit.

Class times will be as usual:
Tue 10am
Thur 6pm
Fri 9:30am
at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park

Pretty layouts with Ma Cherie

Kaisercraft has brought out a new and very pretty collection called Ma Cherie. I am using it in my classes next week. This one will be at TJ's Scrappin' With Style:

I couldn't resist fussy cutting some of that paper.

We will add some gold glimmer and stamping too:

Meet me at TJ's Scrappin' With Style
21 Mayes Ave, Logan Central
Mon (26/10) 9:30am
Cost: $25 incl all materials

♥♥♥
And at Scrapulous, you will try out a variety of techniques and mediums --

-- shimmer paint, glitter paste, rainbow ink, a vintage sticker, playing card, zipper pull and butterflies all feature on this pretty page.

We're using this butterfly paper from the collection and you can change the colour scheme slightly, as long as the butterflies still match:

We will stamp some feathers and...

...and make a sweet embellishment with a vintage sticker (designs will vary):

a zipper pull adds a bit of quirkiness.
