Ah, the good ol' kindy days

I bought a book at Lincraft with some super cute vintage clip art and used some of them for this kindy photo of Joel:

I did a scroll again, this time "stuffing" it with some muslin instead of flowers:

and one of my favourites, the sweet little bottle cap with a tulle circle:

Thanks for looking, bloggers! xoxoxo

Teewah Beach - class next week

We spent Easter 2005 at Teewah Beach near Rainbow Beach and I love this photo. It was taken before we had a decent camera, but it looks like there was no-one at the beach except us. Anyone camping anywhere at Easter time knows better... Looks like my 2 big ones played nicely together, ahhh the good old days!

The general layout is based on my "Twinkles" page, which is based on a sketch by the fabulous Gilly. In true Gilly-style my page only veeeery loosely represents the sketch. LOL!
Here's a cute little surf board cluster:

The title is embossed Kaiser chipboard

Some close-ups, as promised

Well, if you've ever met my family you'll know that we are all crazy guinea pig fans, especially my Hannah! When she grows up she wants to run a guinea pig hotel.

Did you know it's actually quite easy to sew on a paper doily? Just use 5 or more layers.

How funky is that kitschy blue plastic doily?! Lord forbid it should ever be seen on my furniture but on a layout it's fantastic! Leanne gave it to me and most of these other cool little bits and bobs:

And of course, more guinea pigs! For the next 2 layouts I used all my new design team goodies (Echo Park Springtime) from my2angels. Hop on over, there is a fantastic sale on.

I love the birdcage chippie. I've already used 4 of them and usually I'd be totally over it by now, but I can't get enough of it.

Little Leah is a cheerful soul and this paper range matches her prefectly.

I love the funkyness of this paper:

Baker's twine! Gotta love it. And that cute little charm...

But enough girliness! My son Joel got elected to be school captain this year (and I am ever so proud). This photo was taken the day they all got their badges.

A curly tree - why not? The key is a little chippie with copper foil.

To get that old look on the chippie word I first coloured it in with a white gel pen and then glimmer misted it and inked around the edge. Did I mention that was totally unplanned? I like the way it turned out:

Ahem, I'm fervently hoping our dear headmaster isn't a closet scrapper or blog stalker. I couldn't resist using this old playing card from Tracey. For the record, Mr. Teale is actually very nice.

And lastly, a trampoline LO, based on a Inspired Blueprints sketch. My girls spend a lot of time on that thing, hence the title "Trampolines are not just 4 jumping"

I love the stemmed flowers from my2angels

and the ever-so-kitschy plastic doily again:

Okey dokey, that's gotta be my longest blog post so far!
Hugs to all!

Toowoomba weekend rox

I had the best weekend at Leanne's place in Toowoomba where we scrapped, chatted, laughed at silly tampon jokes and killed several bottles in no time. Look at all that talent in one place!

From left to right:
Tracey, Lisa, Leanne, Gilly, Debbie, Belinda, Kim, Renee and me. Notice how we're all nicely lined up according to height? LOL, totally intentional!

And we got heaps done too. Check out this wall of layouts:

So we didn't only drink! Here are mine (and I will post some close-ups later)

No.1: Bringing Goldie home:

No.2: The making of a smile:

OUT FOR PUBLICATION. YEAH!

No.3: Student council:

No. 4: Trampolines are not just for jumping:

No.5: Twinkles

No.6: You are my sunshine:

There is a No.7, which I made for Jo, Belinda's mum, but you will have to wait for her to post a photo of it. (It was late, do I need to say more...) Thanks, Leanne, for hosting an awesome weekend! I was so wound up and full of ideas that I couldn't sleep on the first night back at home.
Ok, time to get the kiddies from school. I'll show you close-ups later.
