In the 70ies

Gosh, what were we cute in the 70ies! My mum had embroidered matching bright orange T-shirts with our names and flowers. It's not showing in the black and white photos, of course.

If you are a hoarder of pretty paper scraps (and aren't we all?!), you will love next week's class! You can even use the itty-bitty ones.

We will create this circle with a stencil and distress inks, so you can match your colours to your papers.

You will need 1 photo, 5 or more patterned paper scraps, 1 white paper or cardstock, a rhinestone or pearl swirl and a flower.
Class times are:
Tue 31/03: 10am
Thur 02/04: 6pm
Friday class will not be on, as it is Good Friday.
Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park QLD
Cost: $20

Golden Monkeys and photo booklet on a layout

Do you have photos that are an important part of the story you want to tell, but they're just not suitable for their own page (out of focus, too many photos of the same thing, too private etc)?

In next week's classes at Scrapulous you'll be adding a clever photo booklet to your page! I used 7 photos, but you can use 3, 5 or even 9 (as long as it's an uneven number)

We will also make this nifty circle embelly and...

...use some super cool glitter paste (in gold or silver) and...

...some felt ribbon (thanks to the fantastic Tracy from my2angels for the felt and the idea).

All you need is a few papers, mostly scraps, some photos and 1 cardstock for the booklet. Why not dig some out, use up your stash and join me for a fun class?
Class times are: Tue 10am, Thu 6pm, Fri 9:30
at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park QLD
Cost: $20

Moments

Time to do something pretty for Toni's Scrappin' With Style!

Not only do you get to use some very pretty papers, you will also learn how to stamp with a mask, dress up a manikin...

...and make a faux seal in the colour of your choice!

This class is on Monday, March 23, at 9:30am and will cost $25 (includes all materials)

Shining Bright Again

Once in a while I come across a paper range that I just love. In this case it's the Shine Bright collection by Kaisercraft, available at my2angels here. It's great for boys or girls -- grunge it up for teen boys or add some flowers for little girls!

I had some paper left and since we used some mini photos and water painting in class last week, I made a girl layout and some cards using what papers I had left.

The mini picks are a great selection of DIY embellishments you can put together in no time. They only cost $2 and I used the mini sweetheart pick in black. It's also available in blue and pink. All the bits and pieces are there and the kit includes instructions with photos. Too easy!

Instead of painting the heart black I did it white, covered it with Crackle Accents, let it dry and rubbed some black ink into the cracks.
The rest of the page is embellished with a fabric flower, my favourite star flowers (those are great on or off the stems) and black metal textured stars (another favourite must-have).

What to do with the last scraps? Make some cards of course!

I had some sugar beads left from my sweetheart kit and made another small heart. Honestly, the heart from the kit turned out much nicer, so don't be stingy, get the real thing!

The other card got a birthday embellishment (available in pink here), the before-mentioned star flowers, a large white flower (folded in half) and some pearl garland

I just love the versatility of this range and I hope you do too!

Treasured Memories and Tassie Fun Day

Next week's classes will feature 2 very different projects. At Scrappin' With Style I will teach this vintage layout (you can use a modern photo)...

...complete with a handmade cabochon embellishment...

...gold edging and pull-out journalling.

If you'd like to scrap a family photo, come along on Monday, March 16 at 9:30. Cost is $25 and includes all materials.

On Tuesday (17/03) and Thursday (19/03) I'll be teaching this boy's layout at Scrapulous:

 Make your own luggage tag...

...glass cabochons...

...button centre...

...and sugar bead heart, using the mini sweetheart picks from my2angels. You can also get this kit in blue or pink, if you want to create a girly version.

I used papers & stamps from the "off the wall" collection by Kaisercraft, available at my2angels here:

If you're interested in this class, meet me at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park
on Tuesday at 10am or Thursday at 6pm.
There'll be no Friday class because I'm working at the craft expo.
Cost is $22 incl. the heart kit. BYO papers

Roman Villa - flipping photos again

I did a similar layout at TJ's Scrappin' With Style last week and several ladies asked for something like it at Scrapulous. So, here it is!

This layout includes a flip-out booklet with Project Life cards. You choose your PL cards, photos (any theme) and colours, of course.

The main photo flips up, then you open this flap...

...open a few more flaps...

...and here you have space for 2 full-sized, up to 4 half-sized photos and journalling. Plus the main photo, of course.

A great way to include lots of photos on your layout without overpowering the overall look!

You can join me for this project on:
Tue 10/03, 10am
Thu 12/03, 6pm
Fri 13/03, 9:30am
at Scrapulous, 60 Bryants Rd, Shailer Park QLD
Cost: $20
